Statement from Senate Majority Conference Leader John L. Sampson

“I am deeply saddened by the tremendous loss of human life and the thousands who were injured in Haiti. I offer my prayers and condolences to those who lost family and friends, and to the Haitian community in New York at this very difficult time. My office is following developments in Haiti closely so we can respond in an effective and efficient manner to help the people of Haiti in every way possible. I urge all New Yorkers to come together and contribute financially to relief efforts.”

“My heart and prayers go out to the people of Haiti and their loved ones in New York. The devastation that struck Haiti is being felt here in our own community. My office is ready to assist the recovery, relief and rebuilding efforts every way we can. We are working with federal, state and city officials to follow developments in Haiti and coordinate relief efforts.
