WOODLAWN HEIGHTS, BRONX, N.Y. – Senator Jeffrey D. Klein, (D-Bronx/ Westchester) joined Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Eamon Gilmore, to celebrate the launch of the Woodlawn “Meals on Wheels” Program at the Emerald Isle Immigration Center. “As a society we will be judged how we treat those who came before us” said Senator Klein “That’s why I’m so proud of this program because it not only provides meals to local seniors in need, it also allows local Woodlawn residents the opportunity to give back to their fellow neighbor”
“The Irish American community is truly grateful to Senator Klein Through his work our Seniors have participated in a program that gives them not only food but companionship. It has made an enormous difference in their lives”” said Brian O'Dwyer, Emerald Isle Immigration Center
