The Senators will call on City Hall to recruit retired NYC Fire Fighters to create a task force to inspect buildings that have dangerous conditions. Senator Adams states, “There are unique circumstances that exacerbate the danger of fighting fires. No one can identify these hazards better than a professional who has performed the job for twenty or more years. Retired fire fighters have the expertise and the experience to identify perilous risks that responding firemen may encounter. “
