Recidivism is one of the most serious criminal justice issues that we face in New York. Part of the reason for recidivism is that we do not offer ex-offenders the skills and resources that they need to succeed after their release. I strongly believe that we must offer former offenders an alternative to crime.
I am very pleased to offer the following guide that will help ex-offenders to locate the resources and programs they need after incarceration. The guide contains information on a variety of important topics including employment, substance abuse counseling, family services as well as education, housing and legal services.
