March is Women's History Month: State Senator Toby Ann Stavisky (left) congratulated Court of Appeals Chief Judge Judith Kaye on her confirmation to another term on the State's highest court. Senators from all regions of the State, in a bipartisan manner, praised Judge Kaye's tenure as the longest serving Chief Judge in modern times. Restructuring the court system, including upgrading town and village justice courts, has been a priority of Judge Kaye and Senator Stavisky praised her landmark decisions on issues such as school aid reform. Judge Kaye was the first woman to serve on the Court of Appeals and Senator Stavisky was the first woman from Queens elected to the State Senate.
