Two competing proposals to name a state vegetable were introduced in the Senate recently – one bill backs the black-dirt onion and another is calling for sweet corn to get the honors.
Senator Young is is asking for public input to determine her vote for which should be named New York’s official state vegetable.
Farmers, friends of farmers, and anyone who eats in New York are encouraged to participate in the poll.
