Pols Seek Answers in Housing Crime Rise

State Senator Adriano Espaillat, with Sens. Bill Perkins and Jose Serrano, and Assemblyman Robert Rodriguez called for an emergency meeting with NYC Housing Authority chairman, John Rhea in an open letter on February 10th.  The meeting is to address a spike in housing crime.

Senator Espaillat's Flan Plan for Peace

State Senator Adriano Espaillat is putting forward a plan to create a community relations council in Northern Manhattan.  The council would provide an opportunity for residents to discuss neighborhood tensions and quality of life issues that divide them - over local cuisine.

The idea stems from Inwood resident Rachel Figueroa-Levin's food blog (posted in both english and spanish) which presents recipes from members of the community as a means to bring people together through a common love of food. Be sure to check out Sen. Espaillat's family recipe for pinapple flan!
