To continue to show her appreciation and support for the local arts, Senator Stewart-Cousins attended the RiverArts 50th Anniversary Party on September 22nd, a fundraiser to celebrate five decades of artistic inspiration and education throughout the Rivertowns held at the Dobbs Ferry Historical Society.
Senator Stewart-Cousins stopped by various vendor tables with Carolyn Stevens, Executive Director of Scarsdale Chamber of Commerce--this one is the League of Women Voters--at Scardale's FIRST food and wine festival on Sunday, September 22nd. Located at Scarsdale Village, this special event brought the community together through food and wine tasting, presented by local celebrity chefs, restaurants, bakeries and catering companies, while generating awareness and raising funds to fight hunger, obesity and malnutrition.

No other event gets local Dobbs Ferry businesses together than the annual Ferry Festa, this year, on Saturday, October 5th from 1:00PM to 8:00PM at the downtown area of Dobbs Ferry. The purpose of this event is to get together as a community and celebrate with fun, food, music and dancing, while experiencing and taking advangate of what downtown Dobbs Ferry has to offer.
ArtsWestchester, the City of White Plains and the White Plains BID hosted Jazzfest 2013, a three-day jazz celebration in downtown White Plains. A strong advocate for the arts, Senator Stewart-Cousins joined local officials and residents on day two of the festival. Senator Stewart-Cousins recognized the Haitian Resource Center with a proclamation at their First Annual Gala on Friday, December 13th at the Thomas H. Slater Center in White Plains, NY. Just established in March this year, the mission of the Haitian Resource Center is to provide services to the growing and underserved Haitian population in Westchester County" including enrichment programs for children and referrals for immigration and citizenship services among others.

Participating in White Plain's St. Patrick's Day Annual Parade has become part of Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins' tradition in celebrating the Irish culture and heritage of many of her constituents. This is the 17th year White Plains hosted this celebration which occured on Saturday, March 8th and commenced at the intersection of Mamaroneck Avenue and Old Mamaroneck Road ending at City Hall. Also at the Parade was the Senator's colleague, Senator George Latimer.
