Saturday, April 27 is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. The event runs from 10:00am until 2:00pm. If you have unwanted prescription drugs or over-the-counter medicines, this is a great opportunity to safely discard them.
On Saturday, April 6, 2013, from 12-3pm, New Dorp High School, along with Where to Turn, The Giving Circle and Danielle's Cleaners, will be hosting a special prom event for high school and middle school students impacted by Hurricane Sandy. Where to Turn has collected over 750 prom dresses that have been dry cleaned by Danielle's Cleaners to distribute to these students. They have also received donations of accessories (shoes, pocketbooks, etc) and special discounts for services (limo's, hair, makeup and tuxedo rentals).

Staten Islanders with questions about insurance claims can get answers from the city Department of Financial Services on Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Stop & Shop in Eltingville. Representatives will answer questions about homeowner, rental and business insurance coverage, and will also provide assistance in contacting providers.
