Senator Andrew Lanza, Assemblyman Michael Cusick and Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman were joined by Island officials and community leaders at Delco Drugs on Staten Island to celebrate the implementation of a key component of New York State’s innovative program for preventing prescription drug abuse.
This week the Senate gave passage to Senate Bill S.2142, sponsored by Senator Andrew Lanza, which would prohibit New York State, or its local governments, from funding any civilian trials of enemy combatants for acts of terrorism in federal courts located in New York.
Senator Lanza joins with elected officials, Army Corps of Engineers, DEC, DEP, and NYC Parks to announce funding for the Staten Island Flood Plain Study. 13 miles of coastline vulnerable to severe storm damage will be studied to determine what shore protections and storm mitigation measures are warranted.
