On Monday, June 13th 2011 Senator Perkins produly stood in unity with many tenants and tenant rights advocates outside the Governor's office to fight for real rent reform. Shortly thereafter, many individuals including Senator Perkins, were arrested on the charge of disorderly conduct.
On February 23, 2011, Senator Bill Perkins wrote to President Obama to extend his sincerest congratulations regarding the recent decision of the President to no longer defend the draconian 'Defense of Marriage Act'.
For many generations sexual assault was not treated as seriously as it should have been. It used to be that sex assailants could attack someone up to three times before being put on the official sexual predators list. If the assaults happened over a period longer than ten years, the attacker was still kept off of the predators list. But no more.
Although the constituents in the 30th senatorial district vary ethnically, culturally and economically, they all encounter the same chronic rat problem whenever they use the subway system. Most people have a visceral reaction to rats, but that alone is not why we must make every effort to rid them from our subways.
Submission of a Petition for a Writ of Certiorari to the Court of Appeals of New York in order for the United States Supreme Court to allow admittance of a Brief of Amicus Curiae in support of the petitioners for the case of Tuck-It-Away Storage, Inc., et al. v. New York State Urban Development Corporation d/b/a/ Empire State Development Corporation.
