Senator Foley and Brookhaven Highway Superintendent John Rouse work to deliver better roadways for Brookhaven residents
On the first day of paving season, Senator Brian X. Foley (D – Blue Point) and Brookhaven Highway Superintendent John Rouse announced major funding for Brookhaven roadways. Foley – a former Town of Brookhaven Supervisor – has been able to secure $2.8 million to maintain and improve roads in Brookhaven.
Senator Brian X. Foley (D – Blue Point) announced two major initiatives that will help veterans returning to New York State from tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Foley is sponsoring legislation that will help veterans reclaim homes lost to foreclosures. The legislation (S4025-B) allows local governments to waive penalties, interests payments, and fees that are owed by military personnel or their spouses on houses they have lost due to foreclosures. While there are federal statues barring banks from foreclosing on service men and women on active duty, the Foley legislation allows veterans to redeem their homes within three years of foreclosure, provided there is no other family occupying it.

Foley (D – Blue Point) addressed over 260 students at the Sayville Middle School during an “Internet Smarts” students assembly where 6th graders learned the importance of safe internet use. Albany, NY – The New York State Senate Transportation Committee approved new legislation that allows Suffolk County to install cameras at traffic signals, deterring and prosecuting drivers who illegally drive through red lights. The legislation, sponsored by Senator Brian X. Foley (D – Blue Point), will increase road safety and prevent injuries and deaths throughout Suffolk County.
