State Senator Brian X. Foley (D – Blue Point) was joined by Senate President Pro Tem Malcolm A. Smith, Assemblyman Phil Ramos, Islip Supervisor Phil Nolan, and local business owners to celebrate a major grant to help revitalize the Downtown Brentwood area.
Civic leaders and activists from local communities in Suffolk County joined Senator Brian X. Foley (D – Blue Point) as he called for increased participation in the U.S Census. The 2010 Census awareness event, which took place at the Brentwood Public Library, was centered around relaying the importance of Census participation and giving community members the tools necessary to educate their friends, family, and neighbors about the Census.
Joined by volunteers from all walks of life in Brentwood, State Senator Brian X. Foley led the effort to clean up graffiti from public and private property in the neighborhood. Senator Foley’s office worked with a local civic group, Brentwood Residents Against Violence Every Day (BRAVE), to organize the start of a concerted effort to rid the community of graffiti.
