NYS Senator Foley comments on new Govt. Efficiency Task Force 3/2/10

March 2, 2010: NYS Senator Brian Foley comments on the creation of the bi-partisan Government Efficiency Task Force. Chaired by Deputy Senate Majority Leader Jeff Klein, the twelve member task force of which Sen. Foley is a member will conduct a statewide investigation into the spending practices of state agencies and operations to uncover areas of administrative inefficiencies and government waste.

Sen. Foley is Joined by Community Leaders in an Effort to Increase Participation in 2010 Census

Civic leaders and activists from local communities in Suffolk County joined Senator Brian X. Foley (D – Blue Point) as he called for increased participation in the U.S Census. The 2010 Census awareness event, which took place at the Brentwood Public Library, was centered around relaying the importance of Census participation and giving community members the tools necessary to educate their friends, family, and neighbors about the Census.  


Senator Foley Makes It Easier for Volunteers to Protect Communities

Senator Brian X. Foley (D – Blue Point) celebrated the senate’s passage of legislation (S4988) that will protect volunteer firefighters and emergency workers from losing their jobs when they miss work while responding to emergencies.


Senator Foley, Mayor Pate Announce Funding for Bellport Village

Senator Brian X. Foley (D – Blue Point) and Bellport Village Mayor David Pate announced today that Bellport Village will receive $450,000 in capital money from the State of New York.

The funding, secured by Senator Foley, will be used to fund projects in Bellport Village. A total of $300,000 in multi-modal funding will go towards re-vamping the sidewalks in the village and $125,000 in funding from the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York will go towards restoring the Bellport Village Community Center.
