New Yorkers are eigible for rebates for purchasing energy-eficient appliances during president’s week, 2010 Sen. Foley
"I am pleased to announce the implementation of New York’s Great Appliance Swap Out program. The United States Department of Energy recently awarded New York State $300 million dollars, for the purpose of stimulating our economy and investing in energy efficient home appliances," Said Sen. Foley.
Senator Brian X. Foley (D – Blue Point) helped pass major legislation to expand clean energy credits in New York State. The legislation (S. 6700) will enable residents to take full advantage of net metering, a program that offers utility bill discounts in exchange for unused power generated through alternative energy sources. The program applies to power generated through wind and solar energy sources.
State Senator Brian X. Foley (D-Blue Point) was joined by environmental advocates to hail Senate Bill 6912-A being reported out of the Senate Energy and Telecommunications Committee, and to urge its swift passage by the full senate.
