Senator Foley Helps Dedicate Sachem North Armed Forces Memorial Garden

Senator Foley joined the Sachem North community in dedicating the Armed Forces Memorial Garden.  The garden is a gift from the Class of 2013 and is meant to provide a living monument to those members of the Sachem community who have served and continue to serve in the armed forces.

Senator Foley Marks Memorial Day

Senator Brian X. Foley (D – Blue Point) released the following statement to commemorate Memorial Day:

“Vietnam Veteran Max Cleland wrote that the curse of the soldier is that he never forgets. Today is a day when all of us are called to join with them to pay tribute to our fallen to ensure that we as a country never forget.

“For over 140 years, Memorial Day has been set aside as a day for us to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom and way of life.

Bearing Witness to William Floyd's Fallen Sons

Despite all of the positive things we were able to accomplish by remaining in Albany for all of last week, staying up north on Thursday and Friday meant I had to miss an event I had been looking forward to attending – the dedication of the Armed Forces Memorial at William Floyd High School.

Senator Foley Supports Our Veterans

Senator Brian X. Foley (D – Blue Point) announced today that a legislative package has passed the senate which will expand benefits available to both veterans and service members serving on active duty. The legislative package, which consisted of eleven bills, covers the areas of health and well-being, housing assistance, matrimonial law, tax relief, voting protection and educational opportunity.
