Legislation would allow veterans of Iraq & Afghanistan wars in Suffolk to reclaim homes lost to foreclosure
Senator Brian X. Foley (D – Blue Point) called on Governor David Paterson to sign his veterans foreclosure bill, which passed in the state senate by a 62-0 vote. The legislation helps veterans in Suffolk County whose homes have been foreclosed on during deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan.
As part of a larger effort to revitalize the Downtown Patchogue area, Senator Brian X. Foley (D – Blue Point) announced the approval of a major grant to the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame, which will boost operations at the 19 year old organization.
Senator Brian X. Foley (D - Blue Point) honored the 2009 Youth of the Year Nominee Derrick Rountree. Derrick has been an integral part of the Bellport Area Boys and Girls Club. He is a budding leader in the 3rd Senate District who has made a difference through his volunteer activities in the Boys and Girls Club.

On the first day of paving season, Senator Brian X. Foley (D – Blue Point) and Brookhaven Highway Superintendent John Rouse announced major funding for Brookhaven roadways. Foley – a former Town of Brookhaven Supervisor – has been able to secure $2.8 million to maintain and improve roads in Brookhaven.
