The New York State Senate today passed legislation to help protect jurors whose safety may be threatened, while also ensuring the integrity of judicial outcomes. The bill (S1513), sponsored by Senator Carl L. Marcellino (R-Syosset), allows the court to withhold names of jurors when a serious threat to juror safety exists.

Senator Marcellino will be holding “mobile office” hours throughout the District where constituents will have an opportunity to ask questions and obtain assistance from Senator Marcellino’s Professional Staff.

Senator Carl L. Marcellino and Senator Michael Ranzenhofer convened a joint hearing to investigate the future of the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA)

“Obviously, too many of the Representatives have become so jaded by the Washington dysfunction that they have lost sight of why they were elected; to help people.  If any of the individuals blocking the Sandy aid could witness firsthand the devastation and suffering, they would comprehend the severity of the situation.  By putting politics before people, the House of Representatives has failed, not just Long islanders, but every American.

Voting for Senator Carl L. Marcellino’s  7th Annual “People’s Choice” Environmental Photo Contest has ended.  All the photos were beautiful and the votes were very close. Thank you to  everyone who participated you did a spectacular job.  I look forward to meeting everyone at the Annual Reception and exhibit.
