Hold on to your pocketbooks and wallets, the MTA is coming and they want your last nickel.  Again.  With a stark reminder of what a lousy deal the 2009 MTA Bailout Plan is, Newsday reported this morning a detailed plan to increase fares for both the MTA and LIRR ridership.

Express Your Opposition to the MTA’s Proposed Fare Hikes

The MTA  will be holding hearings on their proposed fare hikes. The hearings on Long Island will take place, Thursday, September 16, beginning at 6 PM; registration will opens at 5 PM and closes at 9 PM. at the Garden City Hotel 45 Seventh Street in  Garden City.  A second hearing will be held Monday, September 20th at the Suffolk County Legislature, 725 Veterans Memorial

Public Hearing on the Finances, Policies and Practices of the MTA
