On this week’s edition of “Your Voice,” Senator Catharine Young (R,C,I-Olean) discusses the Senate’s efforts to protect children and families from sex offenders, education reforms and the need for greater education funding, expansion of telehealth services, and her support for reducing taxes.


Following a comprehensive investigation by the New York State Senate Coalition that resulted in a startling report detailing numerous sex offenders living near Pre-K and Kindergarten facilities, the state Senate passed legislation that closes loopholes in existing laws and increases local authorities’ ability to restrict living arrangements for sex offenders. Earlier this year, the Senate also passed a package of seven bills to keep communities safe from sexual predators.

But with the prospects of the cap expiring, Senator Catharine M. Young (R,C,I-Olean) has launched an online petition to garner support for the Senate Republican Majority’s effort to make the property tax cap permanent.
