CORRECTION OFFICER RECRUITMENT EFFORT ANNOUNCED

State Senator Catharine Young (R,I,C - Olean), in conjunction with the New York State Department of Corrections, has announced a new exam for correction officers.  It will be held April 4, 2009 with a filing deadline of February 17,2009 under the auspices of the New York State Department of Civil Service.

565th tractor fitted with rollover protection system

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (WKTV) - The New York Center for Agricultural Medicine and Health (NYCAMH) announces that it has fitted the 565th tractor with a rollover protection system (ROPS) through its rebate program, now entering its third year.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1,412 workers on farms died from tractor overturns between 1992 and 2005.

NYCAMH's efforts have saved hundreds of New York farmers from potential injury and death.

Senator Young Secures Grant for Women’s Imaging Center @ Brooks Hospital

State Senator Cathy Young today visited Brooks Memorial Hospital to tour the site of the Dunkirk Hospital’s future Women’s Imaging Center. Working collaboratively with Brooks Memorial Hospital, Senator Young was able to obtain a $250,000 NYS Economic Development Assistance Program (NYSEDAP) grant for the purchase of a new Digital Mammography system for the Center.

USDA DESIGNATES NEW YORK COUNTIES AS AG DISASTER AREAS
