"I am pleased that Governor Spitzer has finally chosen to listen to the overwhelming majority of New Yorkers and has decided to abandon his misguided and dangerous driver’s license plan.The Governor’s plan would have jeopardized the safety and security of New Yorkers and other Americans and directly conflicts with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s opposition to giving drivers’ licenses to illegal aliens.
