Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) today kicked off his eighth annual "Extend the Holidays" toy drive to benefit children in the pediatric ward of Winthrop University Hospital. New unwrapped toys can be delivered to Senator Fuschillo’s district office at 30 South Ocean Avenue in Freeport. The age range for donated toys is infants to early teen.Senator Fuschillo's "Extend the Holidays" toy drive is a unique tradition that is entering its eighth year.

Seaford Library Receives State Grant From Senator Fuschillo

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District), a member of the Senate’s Education Committee, announced today that he obtained $10,000 in state grant funding for the Seaford Public Library. "I would like to thank Senator Fuschillo for his continuing concern for the quality of public library service in our local communities," said Library Director Marilyn Griffin.A portion of the grant funding will allow the Library to purchase an optical media repair unit.

The scouts, who were chaperoned by Kathy and Glenn Harrington to the meeting, visited Senator Fuschillo in order to earn their "Citizenship in the Community" badge.Senator Fuschillo explained to the scouts about how state government works and what his duties are as a State Senator. Senator Charles J. Fuschillo (8th Senate District) joined with Town of Hempstead officials in announcing new improvement projects for the Merrick community. Senator Fuschillo obtained $150,000 in grant funding for the two projects.The Town will use the grant funding to complete 2 new improvement projects. State Senate Passes New Energy Plan That Caps Sales Tax On Gasoline

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) announced that the New York State Senate passed a comprehensive energy plan that places a cap on gasoline sales taxes and provides new financial incentives for utilizing alternative energy sources. The plan was recently approved during a special legislative session in Albany.
