SENATOR FUSCHILLO TO SPONSOR BREAST CANCER SCREENING PROGRAM IN MASSAPEQUA PARK

New York State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick), in conjunction with NuHealth/Nassau Health Care Corporation, will be sponsoring a breast cancer screening program on Thursday, June 16th from 8:45 am to 12:00 pm at the Massapequa Library (Bar Harbour Building). The library is located at 40 Harbor Lane in Massapequa Park.            Appointments are necessary and will be scheduled on first-come, first-served basis.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO STATEMENT ON NEED FOR TEEN INDOOR TANNING BAN

“Earlier today, I joined with the American Cancer Society, representatives from advocacy groups, medical experts, and individuals who have been victimized by skin cancer in calling for a new law to protect children from skin cancer and other dangers associated with indoor tanning. The legislation, which I am sponsoring along with Assemblyman Harvey Weisenberg, would prohibit children under the age of 18 from using indoor tanning devices.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO’S “COMPLETE STREETS” LEGISLATION APPROVED BY SENATE TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE

          Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick), Chairman of the Senate’s Transportation Committee, today announced that the Committee has approved his "complete streets" legislation to help make roadways safer for all who use them.

          "Complete streets design principles help reduce fatalities and injuries, which is why we should take them into consideration on future projects. The Committee’s approval of this legislation is a positive step in the right direction towards making our roadways safer for everyone," said Senator Fuschillo.

            Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) announced that he will be sponsoring a free citizen CPR course where residents can learn lifesaving techniques. The course, which is sponsored in conjunction with the American Red Cross, will be held at Merrick Avenue Middle School (1870 Merrick Avenue, Merrick) on Wednesday June 15th from 7 to 8 pm.
