SENATOR FUSCHILLO INVITES RESIDENTS TO HIS JOB RESOURCE EXPO ON MAY 3RD

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) will be holding a Job Resource Expo to help individuals looking for jobs better prepare themselves to find employment. The event will be held on Friday, May 3rd from 10 am to 12 pm at the Freeport Recreation Center, which is located at 130 East Merrick Road in Freeport.

     “The current job market is extremely competitive, but there are programs and services that can help residents improve their chances of finding employment. This event will enable individuals to learn about job training and educational programs, have their resumes reviewed, and learn other steps they can take to give themselves the best chance to succeed in their job search,” said Senator Fuschillo.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO SUPPORTS NEW JOB CREATION PLAN

Plan Would Create Jobs and Promote Economic Development by Cutting Business Taxes, Reducing Energy Costs, and Investing in Job Training and Business Growth Programs

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) is supporting a new plan to help create jobs, promote economic development, and strengthen New York State’s economy. The plan would cut taxes and costs for small businesses, reduce energy expenses for businesses and residents, and invest in new job training and business growth programs.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO ANNOUNCES $750,000 IN STATE FUNDING TO HELP FARMINGDALE STATE COLLEGE PROMOTE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

            Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) today announced $750,000 in new state funding has been awarded to support initiatives undertaken by Farmingdale State College to help create jobs and promote economic development. The funding was awarded as part of the second round of Regional Economic Development Council Funding, which Senator Fuschillo supported as part of the state budget.

BUSINESS COUNCIL OF NEW YORK STATE NAMES SENATOR FUSCHILLO ONE OF THE TOP “PRO JOBS” STATE LEGISLATORS

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) was recently named one of the top “pro jobs” state legislators by the Business Council of New York State.

     Senator Fuschillo received a 90% “pro jobs” rating from the Council for supporting legislation that promoted fiscal reform and improved the state’s economic climate, including:

     * a state budget that which controlled state spending and contained no new taxes or fees;

     * a plan to give businesses new credits for creating jobs and hiring new employees;

     * repealing mandates that raised costs for businesses

SENATOR FUSCHILLO SUPPORTS SENATE JOB CREATION PLAN

     Senator Fuschillo supports the Senate's New Jobs-NY plan which would reward businesses for creating jobs, cut business taxes, and make New York State more economically competitive.

     The 2012 NEW JOBS-NY Job Creation Plan includes:

     Job-Creating Tax Cuts and Business Development Assistance:

     • Small businesses would see the “small business corporate tax rate” cut from 6.5 percent to 5.2 percent- a reduction of approximately 20 percent.

     • Small businesses that pay under the personal income tax would also receive a 10 percent tax credit if they have at least one employee and a business income of less than $250,000.
