SENATOR FUSCHILLO ANNOUNCES STATE FUNDING TO HELP MASSAPEQUA SCHOOL DISTRICT IMPROVE SECURITY

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently announced that he secured $30,000 in state funding for the Massapequa School District to improve its security systems.  

     According to the district, the funds will be used to purchase additional surveillance cameras, enhance training in threat assessment procedures for staff, and implement an Incident Command System, which will allow for the integration of communication and personnel among various jurisdictions. The new measures will allow the district to greatly enhance the safety of students and school personnel.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO REMINDS RESIDENTS ABOUT PENALTIES FOR PASSING A STOPPED SCHOOL BUS

     With schools back in session, Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) is reminding drivers to always stop for school buses which are stopped with their red lights flashing. 

     “School buses put their red lights on to warn drivers that students are getting on or off the bus. Passing a stopped school bus which has its red lights flashing endangers children and is against the law. Drivers can do their part to help keep students safe by always remembering to stop for a school bus,” said Senator Fuschillo, Chairman of the Senate’s Transportation Committee.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO HELPS CUT THE RIBBON ON ROOSEVELT’S NEW HIGH SCHOOL

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently joined with the Roosevelt community in celebrating the grand opening of the newly rebuilt Roosevelt High School. 

     The new high school is the final part of a district-wide initiative to rebuild its entire infrastructure of schools. It includes new classrooms, science and computer labs, a library, and job training centers.

     “This is another great day for the Roosevelt community. This beautiful new building provides students with a state of the art learning environment from which to grow. The future is bright for the Roosevelt School District,” said Senator Fuschillo.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO VIEWS NEW EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY AT AMITYVILLE LIBRARY

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) and Assemblyman David McDonough (R-North Merrick) recently visited the Merrick Library to view new educational technology which is being used in the Library’s Children’s Room. The Library purchased the technology using state funding secured by Senator Fuschillo.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO ANNOUNCES STATE FUNDING FOR LITERACY INITIATIVE AT COPIAGUE LIBRARY

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) announced that he has secured state funding for the Copiague Library to undertake its new Copiague Literacy initiative.

     The Library will use the funding to facilitate literacy programs that will bring one-on-one tutoring and small group instruction to its patrons. The Library will also be developing its own in-house literacy program that will expand its outreach services within the community. Additionally, the library will be increasing its adult learning, foreign language, and ESL collections for patrons of all ages.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO SECURES STATE FUNDING FOR TECHNOLOGY IMPROVEMENTS AT SEAFORD LIBRARY

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) announced that he has secured state funding for the Seaford Library to improve its technology.

     The state funding will help the Library upgrade its computer and related technology equipment, as well as purchase a public access scanner. The new equipment will help the Library enhance the services it offers to the Seaford community and better meet the needs of its patrons.

     “The Seaford Library is an invaluable resource which provides a wide variety of services to the Seaford community. Utilizing this new technology will allow the Library to further improve these services for the residents it serves,” said Senator Fuschillo.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO SECURES STATE FUNDING FOR NEW EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY AT NORTH BELLMORE LIBRARY

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) announced that he has secured state funding for technology improvements at the North Bellmore Library. 

     The Library will use the funding to purchase four iPads and a Crayon Kiosk for use by children in preschool through the early elementary grades. Children use the iPads, which are situated in the Crayon Kiosk, to play preloaded educational apps which teach them about subjects such as math, science, reading, writing, and problem solving.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO SECURES STATE FUNDING FOR TECHNOLOGY IMPROVEMENTS AT MASSAPEQUA LIBRARY

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) announced that he has secured $5,000 in state funding for technology improvements at the Massapequa Public Library. 

     The Library is using the state funds to purchase up-to-date laptop computers. The Library will use the laptops to teach residents computer skills which will aid them in job searching and training, as well as with other everyday tasks.

     “Learning basic computer skills is becoming even more essential in today’s digital society. This new technology will help the Massapequa Library provide important training to residents of the community,” said Senator Fuschillo.
