FUSCHILLO LEGISLATION TO PROTECT NASSAU COUNTY WATERWAYS PASSED BY SENATE

Legislation Would Restore Nassau’s Authority to Prosecute Water Polluters

        Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) today announced that the New York State Senate has passed legislation he sponsors to help protect Nassau County’s waterways from pollution. The legislation (S5318) would restore Nassau County’s authority to bring enforcement actions against those who pollute its waterways.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO NAMED “ECO-STAR” BY NEW YORK LEAGUE OF CONSERVATION VOTERS

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) was recently named a 2011 “Eco-Star” by the New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV).

NYLCV presents the Eco-Star award “to those outstanding elected officials who authored critical legislation, lobbied their colleagues, and helped broker bipartisan, bicameral solutions to New York’s many sustainability challenges.”

NYLCV named Senator Fuschillo an “Eco-Star” for “improving New York’s environment and securing a clean-energy future” by sponsoring New York State’s new complete streets law.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO TO HOST BEACH CLEAN UP EVENT AT JONES BEACH ON SEPTEMBER 21st

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) announced that he is once again sponsoring a beach cleanup day at Jones Beach on September 21, 2013 from 8 am to 12 pm. All residents are welcome to participate in the program.

     Senator Fuschillo is sponsoring the event in partnership with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation to keep our beaches and shores clean and prevent pollution from harming our oceans and marine life. Approximately one ton of garbage was removed through last year’s beach cleanup.
