SENATOR FUSCHILLO, COUNTY EXECUTIVE MANGANO & MAYOR ALTADONNA TO SPONSOR PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION WORKSHOP IN MASSAPEQUA PARK

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick), in partnership with County Executive Ed Mangano and Mayor James Altadonna, will be sponsoring a Property Tax Exemption Workshop on Friday, October 19th from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Massapequa Park Village Hall (151 Front Street, Massapequa Park).

     Exemption specialists from the Nassau County Department of Assessment will be equipped with computers linked to the county’s database, and property tax exemption applications for Basic STAR, Enhanced STAR, senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, veterans, volunteer firefighters and emergency medical technicians will be processed. County staffers will also provide assistance and answer any questions residents have about these exemptions.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO ANNOUNCES SENATE PASSAGE OF LEGISLATION TO RESTORE STAR PROPERTY TAX REBATE CHECKS

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) announced that the New York State Senate recently passed legislation he cosponsors to restore the STAR property tax rebate check program. Restoring the program would deliver valuable property tax savings to senior citizens and middle class families.

     “Long Island families pay some of the country’s highest property taxes and many are stretching their family budgets thin to survive in this economy. They need real and direct tax relief. Restoring the STAR rebate check program would deliver valuable property tax savings to overtaxed, overburdened Long Island families and allow them to keep more of their hard earned money,” said Senator Fuschillo.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO REMINDS TOWN OF BABYLON RESIDENTS THAT PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION FILING PERIOD NOW UNDERWAY

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) is reminding all Town of Babylon residents that the filing period to apply for New York State’s School Tax Relief (STAR) program and other property tax exemptions in the Town of Babylon is currently underway.  The filing period runs through March 1st.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO REMINDS NASSAU COUNTY RESIDENTS TO APPLY FOR PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTIONS BEFORE JANUARY 2ND

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) is reminding all Nassau County residents that the deadline to file applications for property tax exemptions, including the New York State School Tax Relief (STAR) program, is January 2, 2012.

"New York State’s STAR program, as well as other tax exemptions offered by Nassau County, can help eligible homeowners save money on their property taxes. If you haven’t already applied for STAR or other property tax exemptions for which you might be eligible, be sure to do so by the January 2nd deadline,” said Senator Fuschillo.

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) today joined with Governor Andrew Cuomo and fellow members of the New York State Legislature at a ceremonial bill signing of New York State’s new property tax cap law. The law, which Senator Fuschillo strongly supported in the Senate, will help control local spending by creating a cap on property tax levies.
