PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION INFORMATION

There are a number of different programs available to Nassau and Suffolk County residents to help them save money on their property taxes.

STAR Program:

New York State's School Tax Relief (STAR) program provides recipients with savings on their school property taxes.

The STAR program works in two parts:

Basic STAR is available to New Yorkers who own and live in their own home, condominium, or cooperative apartment, with an adjusted gross income that does not exceed $500,000, regardless of age.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO REMINDS TOWN OF BABYLON RESIDENTS PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION FILING PERIOD DEADLINE IS MARCH 1ST

        Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) is reminding all Town of Babylon residents that the deadline to file applications for New York State’s School Tax Relief (STAR) program and other property tax exemptions in the Town of Babylon is March 1st.

        New York State’s STAR program works in two parts:

        - Basic STAR is available to all New Yorkers who own and live in their own home, condominium, or cooperative apartment whose combined total adjusted gross income does not exceed $500,000, regardless of age.
