Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) today announced that Merrick resident Robert Tom Riordan, a Marine Corps veteran, has been named to the New York State Senate’s Veterans Hall of Fame. The program recognizes veterans from all across the state for either extraordinary efforts in combat or in work performed after discharge from the service.
Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) today announced that Freeport resident Stephen Nicolino has been inducted into the New York State Senate’s Veterans Hall of Fame. Mr. Nicolino was named to the Hall of Fame by Senator Fuschillo.
“Stephen Nicolino is a devoted and tireless advocate for our nation’s heroes. He has organized numerous service projects to aid local veterans, soldiers fighting overseas, and the community as a whole, and continues to serve in many different community organizations. His many years of service to his fellow veterans and the community make him most deserving of this honor, and it is my pleasure to congratulate him,” said Senator Fuschillo.
Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently joined with members of the Merrick and North Merrick community to commemorate Memorial Day at the annual Memorial Day Parade.
The Merrick/North Merrick Memorial Day Parade is an annual community tradition which pays tribute to all of the veterans who served our nation, most especially the ones who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our country. Hundreds of Merokians lined Merrick Avenue between Veterans Plaza and the Veterans Monument at Lee Avenue to view the parade and show their appreciation for our American heroes.
