Senate Passes Fuschillo Bill Requiring Pool Alarms In Swimming Pools

With yet another tragic death of a child who drowned in a swimming pool this past weekend, Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) is sponsoring legislation that would require all newly installed swimming pools to be equipped with pool alarms. "Unfortunately, it seems that every summer we read about the tragic death of a young child who drowned in a pool because they went into the water when no one was around. By equipping pools with pool alarms, we would create another safeguard against accidental drowning," said Senator Fuschillo.

Senator Fuschillo Secures Grant Funding For Defibrillators At Lindenhurst Library

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) has secured $5,000 grant funding for the Lindenhurst Memorial Library. The Library used the grant funds to purchase an Automated External Defibrillators (AED) and necessary support supplies. An AED is a lightweight, portable device that is designed to provide an electric shock to the heart to help it return to its normal rhythm during cardiac arrest.

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) and Assemblyman David G. McDonough (19th Assembly District) today helped to "stamp out hunger" by participating in the National Association of Letter Carriers’ (NALC) 14th annual food drive. The NALC "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive is the nation’s largest one-day food drive. According to the United States Postal Service, almost 1,500 local NALC branches in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands collected food donations left by mailboxes and in Post Offices.
