Senator Fuschillo & Local Veterans Unveil Parkway Signs For Long Island National Cemetery

Veterans recently joined with Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) at the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale to thank him for a new law he sponsored that will direct more visitors to honor our nation’s fallen heroes and veterans. At the request of veterans groups, Senator Fuschillo sponsored the law permitting the New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) to post "Long Island National Cemetery" signs on the east and westbound sides of the Long Island Expressway at Exit 49 South and the Southern State Parkway at Exit 35 - Wellwood Avenue.

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) presented the New York State Senate Liberty Medal today to a young hero from Wantagh. Joseph Sorrentino, a fifth grade student at East Broadway Elementary School, earned the award for evacuating his entire family out of their burning home."Joseph’s bravery, poise, and quick thinking helped save both his life and the lives of his family. As a result of his actions, a tragedy was averted," said Senator Fuschillo.

The age range for donated toys is infants to early teen.Senator Fuschillo's "Extend the Holidays" toy drive is a unique tradition that is entering its eighth year.

Seaford Library Receives State Grant From Senator Fuschillo

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District), a member of the Senate’s Education Committee, announced today that he obtained $10,000 in state grant funding for the Seaford Public Library. Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District), a member of the State Senate’s Labor Committee, announced that legislation he sponsored to protect workers is now New York State law. The legislation was supported in the Assembly by Assemblyman Thomas P.
