State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District), Assemblyman Thomas McKevitt (17th Assembly District), and Assemblyman David G. McDonough (19th Assembly District) recently congratulated Eagle Scout candidate Matthew Callman of Merrick on completing his Eagle Scout project. Matthew, a sophomore at Calhoun High School, is currently a Life Scout and Senior Patrol Leader in Boy Scout Troop 214.For his Eagle Scout project, Matthew provided the Merrick community with information about emergency preparedness.

Ryan is entering his senior year at St. Dominic’s High School and aspires to have a career in medicine as a doctor.

Fuschillo, Jr. today announced a new state law that will protect children from having to testify in person in a courtroom during a criminal proceeding if a judge determines that the appearance could cause the child to suffer serious mental or emotional harm.
