SENATOR FUSCHILLO SUPPORTS FAMILY TAX RELIEF ACT

Proposal Would Increase Tax Credits to Help Families & Restore STAR Rebate Checks to Provide Property Tax Relief

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently announced his support for the Family Tax Relief Act, a package of tax relief and reform measures designed to provide a major economic boost to struggling middle class families.

     The plan would increase tax breaks that have not kept pace with inflation, and, in some instances, haven’t been adjusted for more than 25 years. The plan would also restore the STAR property tax rebate check to provide real and direct relief to Long Island families who pay some of the nation’s highest property taxes.

SENATE PASSES FUSCHILLO LEGISLATION RAISING PENALTIES FOR FALSE PERSONATION

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) today announced that the New York State Senate has passed legislation he sponsors to raise penalties for individuals who seek to evade security and scrutiny at transportation facilities and other public places. The legislation creates stronger penalties for individuals trying to illegally access secure areas at airports, train stations, bus terminals, and other public places, as well for those who steal law enforcement or fire department identification.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO TO SPONSOR BREAST CANCER SCREENING PROGRAM IN FREEPORT

    New York State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick), in conjunction with NuHealth/Nassau Health Care Corporation, will be sponsoring a breast cancer screening program on Thursday, April 18th from 8:45 am to 12:00 pm at the Freeport Library. The library is located at 144 West Merrick Road in Freeport.

    Appointments are necessary and will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. On site nurses and technicians will provide a mammography, a clinical breast examination and instructions for self examination. Patients and their physicians will be notified of the exam results.

SENATOR FUSCHILLO TO SPONSOR FREE PROSTATE CANCER SCREENING PROGRAM IN MASSAPEQUA PARK

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick), in conjunction with the Integrated Medical Foundation, will be sponsoring a free prostate cancer screening program in Massapequa Park.

     The free screening program will be held on Thursday, April 4th between 4 pm and 6 pm at the Massapequa Library’s Bar Harbour Building, which is located at 40 Harbor Lane in Massapequa Park. The free screenings will be conducted by Michael Dourmashkin, MD of Advanced Urology of New York.
