Senator Craig M. Johnson (D-Nassau)  and representatives from Austim Speaks addressed the Senate Standing Committee on Insurance during an Oct. 23, 2009 hearing on the insurance industry's role in the treatment of Autism. During this testimony, Senator Johnson urged the Senate Insurance Committee to pass (S.2366)  legislation that would require private insurance companies to cover some of the costs associated with the treatment of Autism.
