Recording of Senator Squadron's September 23rd community convention follow-up call

On September 23rd, Senator Squadron hosted a conference call to give an update on the goals and priorities outlined at the first-ever 25th District Community Convention  held in March. The discussion focused on buses, subways, MTA funding, and MTA issues, pedestrian safety, street changes, bicycle lanes, traffic control, environmental sustainability, alternative energy and parks and open space.

The call was the first in a series of community convention update calls, all of which are open to the public.

Full Line Review Called for by Senator Identifies Solutions for Delay-Plagued Line

New York, NY – State Senator Daniel Squadron and the MTA today announced the release of the full line review of the F Train that the Senator called for this summer.  The comprehensive 25-page report details serious problems on the F Line, and offers strategies for improvement.  Senator Squadron praised the MTA for its responsiveness in studying the line and pledged to work with New York City Transit and F train riders to implement solutions to improve service on the line.

This past summer, I called on the MTA to conduct a full line review of the F Train in response to the many constituent complaints I received regarding ongoing service problems.  In October, the MTA released the findings from this review in a comprehensive report (which you can find on my website at: www.squadron.nysenate.gov).

The F train will rumble onto center stage next week, when the often frustrating subway line will be the focus of a public meeting.

State Senator Daniel Squadron and Community Boards 2 and 6 will host the event, planned for Thursday, Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m. inside Public School 58, 330 Smith Street.

In October, New York City Transit released the findings of a full line review it conducted at Squadron’s request.
