Sen. Aubertine: Legislature must seize opportunity to make long overdue fundamental reforms
ALBANY (April 7, 2010)—State Sen. Darrel J. Aubertine today joined his colleagues in pushing for significant budget reforms that would address several of the root causes of New York State’s current fiscal trouble.
“Today, we closed down the budget process by passing a revenue bill that keeps my commitment to the people of Oswego, Jefferson and St. Lawrence counties to block the governor’s proposed new taxes. After months of frustration that we all felt, this budget, while far from perfect, is a considerable improvement on where we were April 1.
ALBANY (February 2, 2010)—The New York State Senate today passed by unanimous vote legislation (S.5426) sponsored by Sen. Darrel J. Aubertine intended to empower county, city, town and village highway superintendents to better share services across municipal lines to save money.
