Last year, United Water asked for help funding a desalination plant without illustrating a need for the facility. Now the utility company is asking ratepayers for a rate hike while ignoring their own financial and managerial issues.
Rockland residents are already slammed with some of the highest property taxes in the nation while unemployment remains a serious concern throughout the region. Many families have tightened their belts to get through these tough economic times.
Asking ratepayers to pay an additional 24.5% while United Water continues to NOT take steps towards tightening their own belt is unacceptable.
As we proceed through the 2014 Legislative session, I'd like your feedback on issues that may be considered and what your priorities are in the Hudson Valley. If you have any specific questions about an issue that you are passionate about, please feel free to call my office anytime.
Senator Carlucci is fighting to restore the Middle Class STAR Rebate Program for homeowners in the Hudson Valley. He has co-sponsored legislation that would ensure that working families once again receive their STAR Rebate Check in the mail and are provided that added safety net.
To join Senator Carlucci's campaign, please fill out the information below to be kept up to speed with the latest happenings on this important issue:
New York Seniors face new challenges among an increasingly aging demographic, and it is important to meet these challenges by having an active level of participation among those who are affected. Seniors are the backbone of our community and play an important role in shaping the public debate. Keeping our seniors engaged and up to speed is an important priority of Senator Carlucci’s mission of providing the best quality services available.
In order to encourage dialogue between Albany and the veterans community, Senator Carlucci every few months holds an informative Veterans Advisory Committee meeting in Rockland County. This is a chance for veterans to learn about what services are available to them and their families at the state level, offer their ideas and suggestions on specific legislation being debated in the New York State Legislature, and make their voices heard.
In the coming weeks, the Legislature will be working with Governor Andrew Cuomo to finalize the State’s financial plan based on his 2011-2012 proposed budget.
To effectively represent the residents of Rockland county , I count on your input. To review the Governor’s proposed budget please click here http://www.budget.state.ny.us/ and submit any comments or recommendations you may have below.
Also, please feel free to call, write or stop by my office. Your input is always welcome.
