Senator Carlucci Unveils Proposal to Expand Pride of NY Program

Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Orange) and Senate colleagues today proposed an expansion of the Pride of New York Program that will increase awareness of restaurants and markets that sell New York-grown products and help strengthen this state’s agricultural economy.

The proposal will create two new designations, “Dine: Pride of New York” for restaurants and “Shop: Pride of New York” for retailers and wholesalers, that would serve as a beacon for New Yorkers who are increasingly looking to buy locally grown products.

Senator Carlucci to Host Hike of 1779 Trail

Senator David Carlucci (D – Rockland/Westchester) will be hosting a “Hike with Your Senator,” on Thursday, July 16th from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Senator Carlucci will be leading a group through the 1779 Trail, which retraces the route taken by Brigadier General Anthony Wayne’s Corps of Light Infantry in its assault on the British fortifications at Stony Point.

The Hike will launch at 5:30 p.m. from the Fort Montgomery State Historic Site, located at 690 Route 9W, Fort Montgomery, NY.

SENATOR CARLUCCI TO KICK OFF POVERTY HEARINGS IN ROCKLAND

Senator David Carlucci (D – Rockland/Westchester), as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Social Services will host a series of hearings throughout New York State on poverty. The first hearing will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at the Pearl River Library, located at 80 Franklin Avenue, in Pearl River, NY, at 1 p.m.
