Senator Carlucci Calls on Students to Submit Entries for Earth Day Contest

Nanuet, NY (March 6, 2012) – Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Orange) today reminded local students to submit their entries by March 9, 2012 for the New York State Senate’s Earth Day Poster Contest.  This year, Senator Carlucci and the entire New York State Senate is sponsoring a poster contest for children in grades K-6.  The theme of the Earth Day celebration is “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.”

Senator Carlucci & Grandview Elementary School Celebrate Earth Day

Senator David Carlucci (D – Rockland/Westchester), planted a tree in celebration of Earth Day with the students of Grandview Elementary School.

“I have always enjoyed Earth Day,” said Senator Carlucci. “It’s important to show children how fun and easy it is to make our Earth a healthier place. As State Senator, I know how important it is to protect our environment with legislation, but that will only bring us so far, sometimes you need to roll up your sleeves and get to work.”

The apple tree was donated by O’Sullivan Tree Care from West Nyack.

In Honor of Earth Day Senator Carlucci Hosts Roadside Cleanup

In honor of Earth Day, I was joined by Jack, Lauren and a group of volunteers for our Roadside Cleanup. I know how important it is to protect our environment with legislation, but that will only bring us so far, sometimes you need to roll up your sleeves and get to work. Thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy lives to make our earth a healthier place!
