SENATOR CARLUCCI, PASCACK VALLEY LEARNING CENTER PRESENT CHECK TO AMERICAN RED CROSS FOR SANDY RELIEF

 

Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Orange) today visited Pascack Valley Learning Center in Airmont to join with students who helped raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.  He was joined by Mary Young, CEO of the American Red Cross, Metro North, Principal JoAnne Fratello and over 100 students who gathered in the school auditorium to deliver a check to the American Red Cross.

SENATOR CARLUCCI APPOINTED TO BIPARTISAN SENATE TASK FORCE ON HURRICANE SANDY RECOVERY

Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Orange) was recently appointed to the Bipartisan Senate Task Force on Hurricane Sandy Recovery, a newly established panel of both Democrats and Republicans from New York’s hardest-hit areas.  Senator Carlucci will be among a handful of legislators that will play a critical role in the rebuilding and planning of New York in the weeks and months ahead.

Each task force member is uniquely qualified to pinpoint those neighborhoods and businesses that are most in need of storm recovery assistance. As federal and state recovery dollars begin to materialize, Senator Carlucci will play a pivotal role in developing short and long-term plans that will help Hudson Valley communities get back on their feet.

SENATOR CARLUCCI, SENATE BIPARTISAN TASK FORCE FOR HURRICANE SANDY RECOVERY MEETS ON LONG ISLAND

The New York State Senate’s Bipartisan Task Force on Hurricane Sandy Recovery today visited communities on Long Island to tour storm damage and speak with local officials, business leaders, and individuals about the progress and challenges of the ongoing recovery efforts.

Today’s meeting focused on Hurricane Sandy’s impacts in Nassau and Suffolk counties and included tours of Freeport, Island Park, and Oceanside to view the extensive storm damage and recovery efforts. This was the second meeting of the Bipartisan Senate Task Force for Hurricane Sandy Recovery, which first met on December 10, 2012, in the Rockaways in Queens.

Squire’s Gate Community Residents Sought Assistance from Village of Suffern

FEMA to Buyout Each Residential Home Affected at 75% of Fair Market Value Prior to Hurricane Irene’s Landfall 

SUFFERN, NY – Suffern Mayor Dagan LaCorte (D-Suffern) and Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Westchester) today announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has agreed to buyout four homes in Rockland County that suffered severe damage in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene. 

Both officials were also joined by homeowners Henny Guirguis and Salama Souzi, Sheila Cohen, Angela Sullivan Smith, and Jo Hallett.

STATEMENT BY SENATOR CARLUCCI REGARDING GOVERNOR CUOMO'S BUDGET PROPOSAL REQUIRING ACCESS TO BACKUP GENERATORS AT CERTAIN GAS STATIONS IN NEW YORK

"New York State needs a 21st century approach when it comes to modernizing our energy delivery system.  Today, the Governor made it clear that he supports ensuring that our transportation system is functioning when a natural disaster strikes and residents lose power.  I wholeheartedly support Governor Cuomo's call to require certain gas stations to be pre-wired and have the ability to produce backup power on site.
