On Friday, I had the pleasure of making gift baskets for homeless children centers with Daisy Troop 40451.  My thanks go out to the girls and Troop Leaders for inviting me.  What a fun way to build strong character and a sense of community involvement for these young ladies!

Please Join Us for 1st Annual Easter Egg Roll and Family Health Fair

Senator David Carlucci is hosting his first annual “Easter Egg Roll and Family Health Fair”.  Several area health-care agencies will be on hand to distribute health information and discuss the importance of healthy living.

Events include an Easter Egg Roll, magic show, music and an appearance by the Easter Bunny.

Children 10 and under should RSVP to enroll in the Easter Egg Roll by calling 845-623-3627 or emailing corrales@nysenate.gov.  Space is limited.

This is a free event.

Lauren's Law Passes Transportation Commitee

Senator Carlucci, Assemb. Ortiz and IDC Join 10-year-old Heart Transplant Survivor to Push for Life-Saving Legislation

'Lauren's Law' to Increase Organ Donation Passed Important Committee Vote

ALBANY, N.Y. – Senator David Carlucci and Assemblyman Felix Ortiz, (D-Brooklyn) joined 10-year-old heart transplant survivor Lauren Shields and her family in a push for life saving legislation.

The measure, “Lauren's Law,” would prohibit a driver's license application from being processed unless the organ donation section is filled out. Applicants would have to check a box stating “yes,” or “not at this time.” There currently is an organ donation section on the application, but it is not required to be filled out.

Senator Carlucci: Saving Time, Resources and Money Through E-Recording

(Albany, NY) Today, Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Orange) voted to pass a bill that responds to the ongoing challenge local governments face of delivering more services with fewer resources. This bill permits, but does not mandate, the use of electronic recording and filing to support activities related to the recording of instruments affecting real property.

“County clerks are continually seeking ways to improve efficiency, enhance services, and save taxpayer dollars,” Senator Carlucci said.  “Owners of real property, real estate professionals and local government taxpayers will benefit from the more accurate and efficient land records system that this bill would facilitate.”
