SENATOR CARLUCCI TALKS PUBLIC SERVICE WITH FIRST CLASS SCOUT CARRINGTON GREGORI

Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Orange) today met with First Class Scout Carrington Gregori of Troop 97 in New City to discuss the Citizenship in the Community Merit Badge and how young people can become more involved in public service. 

“Scouts today perform a variety of core missions for our community that instill altruism and a deeper meaning of respect for one another,” said Senator Carlucci.  “This program is just the latest example of how important it is to become engaged in the democratic process and learn we can all work to benefit the greater good.”

SENATOR CARLUCCI APPOINTED TO BIPARTISAN SENATE TASK FORCE ON HURRICANE SANDY RECOVERY

Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Orange) was recently appointed to the Bipartisan Senate Task Force on Hurricane Sandy Recovery, a newly established panel of both Democrats and Republicans from New York’s hardest-hit areas.  Senator Carlucci will be among a handful of legislators that will play a critical role in the rebuilding and planning of New York in the weeks and months ahead.

Each task force member is uniquely qualified to pinpoint those neighborhoods and businesses that are most in need of storm recovery assistance. As federal and state recovery dollars begin to materialize, Senator Carlucci will play a pivotal role in developing short and long-term plans that will help Hudson Valley communities get back on their feet.

Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Orange) today visited Pascack Valley Learning Center in Airmont to join with students who helped raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.  He was joined by Mary Young, CEO of the American Red Cross, Metro North, Principal JoAnne Fratello and over 100 students who gathered in the school auditorium to deliver a check to the American Red Cross.

NANUET, NY Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Orange) today announced that his office is launching a winter clothing drive and will be accepting outerwear items to donate to non-profit organizations and shelters throughout Rockland County.  Anyone that has any unwanted or older items in good condition -- including coats, scarves, gloves, mittens, and hats -- are urged to drop off those items at the Senator’s district office, located at 95 South Middletown Road, Nanuet.

Governor Cuomo Signs Senator Carlucci Law to Help Small Business

Governor Cuomo signed into law Chapter 462 of 2012 that will continue, for four more years, the improvements made to agency regulatory agendas (SAPA Section 202-d).  The new law will also improve the effectiveness of the current "five-year review" process by providing for better outreach and more timely initial review of rules that impact small businesses and local governments.  The legislation was supported by the National Federation of Independent Business and the Business Council of New York State.
