SYRACUSE, N.Y.-- The New York State Senate passed legislation on May 19, sponsored by State Senator David J. Valesky (D-Oneida), which gives the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) the flexibility to identify traps with either the trapper’s name and address or assigned identification number.
SYRACUSE, N.Y.—State Senator David J. Valesky (D-Oneida) today announced that $150,000 in matching grants will be available for capital improvements to New York State farmers’ markets. The $150,000 fund was earmarked in this year’s Enacted Budget as part of the Grow New York program. The purpose of the fund is to construct permanent infrastructure to help increase access to New York-grown and produced food. More than 30 farmers’ markets are located in Central New York.
Legislation to establish a wood products development council in New York State (S.4330-A/A.7742-A) within the State Department of Agriculture and Markets has passed both Houses of the New York State Legislature. This bill was sponsored by Senator David J. Valesky (D-Oneida) and Assemblywoman RoAnn M. Destito (D/WF-Rome).
