Madison County Offering Earth Day Electronics Recycling Events

(Madison County, NY – April 20, 2014) Senator David J. Valesky (D-Oneida) will join Madison County officials on Earth Day, April 22 at 11 a.m. at the Village of Hamilton DPW, 18 Milford St., to kick-off a series of six e-recycling collection events. The events are designed to bring attention to the New York State Electronics Recycling & Reuse Act by encouraging residents to properly dispose of their unwanted TVs and computer monitors that contain cathode ray tubes (CRTs).


Senator Valesky Takes on Locavore Challenge

Syracuse, NY – State Senator David J. Valesky (D-Oneida) is taking part in the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York’s (NOFA-NY) Locavore Challenge, which it holds each September to inspire awareness and action in eating locally and organically through events and activities around the state and online.

“We are fortunate to live in an area with a strong agricultural base and where locally produced foods are so readily available,” Senator Valesky said. “I encourage everyone to take advantage of the abundance of produce at our farmers’ markets, to support restaurants that buy local food products and to take part in the Locavore Challenge themselves.”


Senator Valesky Hosts Free Electronics Recycling Event

SYRACUSE – Senator David J. Valesky (D-Oneida) is hosting an electronics recycling event in partnership with Sunnking Electronics Recycling and Time Warner Cable on Saturday, January 31, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the City of Syracuse Department of Public Works, 1200 Canal St. Extension (off Midler Ave.), Syracuse. Area residents can drop off old and unused electronics at no charge, and there is no limit to the number of items that may be dropped off.


Recycle old TVs and other electronics for free Saturday at Syracuse DPW

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Central New York residents can get rid of old TVs, computers, phones and other electronic equipment for free at a recycling event 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Syracuse Department of Public Works, 1200 Canal St. Extension, off Midler Avenue.

Just drive into the DPW truck garage and volunteers will unload your unwanted items, said Jessica DeCerce, chief of staff for Sen. David Valesky, who is sponsoring the event together with Time Warner Cable and Sunnking Electronics Recycling.
