State Senator David J. Valesky (D-Oneida), Chair of the Senate Aging Committee,  along with his colleagues in the Independent Democratic Conference, released a report in support of the conference’s proposals making New York State more affordable for senior citizens. Each of these proposals were addressed in the Senate one-house budget resolution.

Senator Valesky Speaks to Seniors at State Convention

Senator Valesky, chair of the Senate Aging Committee, spoke October 15 to attendees at the New York StateWide Senior Action Council's 2014 convention about state government priorities for older New Yorkers. The New York StateWide Senior Action Council is a grassroots membership organization made up of individual senior citizens and senior citizen clubs from all parts of New York State.

Senator Valesky Visits Clinton's Youngest and Oldest Residents

Senator Valesky spent October 17 in the village of Clinton. He stopped by Clinton Elementary School and then LutheranCare, where he accepted an award and spent some time with residents.

Oneida: Senior Fair attracts more visitors in year 2

ONEIDA>> State Sen. David Valesky, D-53, held his second-annual Senior Information Fair at the Kallet Civic Center, an event he hopes will keep area senior citizens better informed.

“I have found and continue to find so many projects and resources available to our seniors, that, they may not be aware of,” Valesky said. “There are more than 30 different groups that have volunteered their time to get information out to he people who can benefit from it. As of 12 p.m., we’ve already exceeded last year’s number of visitors.”

Sen. Valesky to Hold Free Senior Fair on Oct. 16

Senator Valesky is hosting a Senior Information Fair at the Kallet Civic Center in Oneida on Thursday, October 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Experts from local businesses, nonprofits and government agencies (listed below) will provide important information on health care, in-home services, health insurance, prescription assistance, housing, avoiding scams, and local services, as well as offer giveaways. All senior citizens in Sen. Valesky’s district are invited to attend this free event.

Kinney Drugs will offer flu shots (with insurance card and co-payment), along with blood pressure checks and other health screenings. Tim Horton’s will provide refreshments.

(Clinton, NY -Oct. 2014) LutheranCare, a leading provider of services to older New Yorkers in the area recognized Senator David J. Valesky (D-Oneida) with the prestigious “Partners in Quality” award created by Leading Age New York, a statewide association representing 570 organizations that provide care to some 500,000 New Yorkers of all ages.
