I am pleased to announce that I will be hosting my 5th annual NYS Senate Career Fair on Friday, October 3, 2014, at Molloy College located at 1000 Hempstead Ave in Rockville Centre, from 9am-1pm. This event will once again bring employees and potential employers together and will be geared towards assisting individuals seeking employment in identifying businesses and organizations that are hiring. It is an event that is sure to be mutually beneficial for those seeking employment, as well as potential employers. The Safe Center of Long Island and their highly trained and compassionate staff offers social services including counseling, housing and more to victims of abuse and their non-offending family members. Each year The Safe Center of Long Island holds a school supply drive to help those families who are recovering from traumatic experiences and are in need of assistance. This year it is my pleasure to partner with them and sponsor a School Supply Drive to support their efforts. Over the next few weeks I will be collecting new school supplies which will be distributed to families in need through The Safe Center of Long Island’s program.
On Tuesday, August 5th, I will be hosting a Free Child & Senior I.D. Program in partnership with Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano. This free program will take place from 10am - 1pm at the Incorporated Village of Valley Stream Pool, located at A.J. Hendrickson Park - 123 Merrick Road in Valley Stream.
Senator Dean G. Skelos and Senator Jack Martins are partnering with the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) to provide services and assistance to homeowners facing foreclosure. Senator Skelos and Senator Martins have arranged to have DFS’ Mobile Foreclosure Relief Center come to Elmont on Thursday, August 7th, from 10am to 6 pm at the Clara H.
