SENATOR SKELOS JOINS GOVERNOR CUOMO IN SIGNING MTA PAYROLL TAX ROLLBACK INTO LAW

The MTA payroll tax has been an enormous burden on businesses and today we are lifting that burden. More than 290,000 small businesses will now have a greater opportunity to invest in their businesses and invest in creating new jobs. I want to thank the members of the Senate Republican Conference, especially Senator Lee Zeldin, for keeping up the pressure to repeal this job-killing tax; and I thank Governor Cuomo for his leadership and for signing this measure into law.

REMEMBERING SEPTEMBER 11

Dear Fellow New Yorker:

It’s hard to believe that 10 years have passed since the September 11th terrorist attacks. Like you, I remember where I was on that crisp and clear morning, how we frantically called our friends and family who worked in Lower Manhattan, and how we all watched in horror as the towers fell.

I attended two to three funerals a day in the weeks following those horrific attacks, and I will never forget the strength and courage of the families of those who perished.

Share Your Ideas For A Stronger Economy

New York is facing one of the most significant economic challenges in recent history. That’s why – in partnership with Governor Andrew Cuomo – we took decisive action during this year’s Legislative Session to help revitalize our economy and create new job opportunities here in New York State.

Taken together, these changes and reforms represent one of the boldest job-creation plans New York State has enacted in decades. That’s good news – especially in terms of our efforts to create new jobs here right on Long Island.  But more needs to be done.  As we continue to work to strengthen New York’s economy, I would like to find out your opinion on a few key items that will be discussed in the coming months.
