(Albany, NY) – Demonstrating their commitment to developing a responsible budget, the Senate Majority Conference announced the formation of a new bipartisan task force on government efficiency. Chaired by Deputy Senate Majority Leader Jeff Klein, the eleven-member task force will conduct a statewide investigation into the spending practices of state agencies and operations to uncover areas of administrative inefficiencies and government waste.

Savino Holds Victory Party for National Youth Football Champs, Staten Island Hurricanes

(Staten Island) Senator Diane Savino, Assemblyman Matt Titone, and Modell’s Sporting Goods hosted a Victory Pizza Party on Sunday, January 17, for the Staten Island Hurricane Youth Football Team.  The team’s four age divisions are the Mighty Mites (ages 8-9), Junior Pee Wee’s (9-11), Pee Wee’s (11-12) and the Midget’s (13-15).The organization won all four divisions in the American Youth Football Big East Regional Tournament. The Hurricanes then went on to play in the National Championship Games at Austin Tindale Park in Orlando, FL.
