New York – Senator Diane J. Savino announced today that the New York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators is now accepting applications for four $1,500 scholarships to be awarded in June at their Annual Conference Weekend. Scholarship winners must be present to receive their awards.

Savino Holds Victory Party for National Youth Football Champs, Staten Island Hurricanes

(Staten Island) Senator Diane Savino, Assemblyman Matt Titone, and Modell’s Sporting Goods hosted a Victory Pizza Party on Sunday, January 17, for the Staten Island Hurricane Youth Football Team.  The team’s four age divisions are the Mighty Mites (ages 8-9), Junior Pee Wee’s (9-11), Pee Wee’s (11-12) and the Midget’s (13-15).The organization won all four divisions in the American Youth Football Big East Regional Tournament. The Hurricanes then went on to play in the National Championship Games at Austin Tindale Park in Orlando, FL.

Albany – Today, Senator Diane J. Savino joined domestic workers and their supporters in calling for the immediate passage of the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights [S2311A]. The bill, introduced by Senator Savino, guarantees protection from discrimination, notice of termination, paid sick days and holidays, and other basic labor protections long denied to nannies, housekeepers, and elderly caregivers employed in private homes.

Senator Diane J. Savino Hosts "Halloween Bash" at the Cromwell Center

(Staten Island)--Senator Diane J. Savino, in conjunction with Health Plus and the NYC Parks and Recreation Department, Cromwell Center, hosted a "spooktacular" halloween celebration on Thursday, October 30, from 3pm to 5pm.

Kids were treated to free candy bags, healthy snacks, a costume contest and a haunted house.  Parents also had the opportunity to enroll in low-cost health insurance.
