(Staten Island)- More than 800 Staten Islanders lined up in front of the Cromwell Center, in Tompkinsville, Staten Island, on Wednesday, September 2, 20009, for an annual back to school giveaway organized by Senator Diane Savino. The event, called the “Back to School Blast” , featured free school supplies, free health screenings, healthy snacks, face painting, giveaways, as well as school and college-related information.
(Brooklyn) Senator Diane J. Savino and staff members handed out more than 500 back-to-school packets, filled with school supplies, to Coney Island school children on Wednesday, September 30th, at the South Brooklyn Youth Consortium, a youth organization that offers afterschool programs and job training.
Join us on October 30, 2009 for a spooktacular Halloween celebration at the Cromwell Recreation Center. Free cady bags, a costume contest and a haunted house are provided for children.
